What’s The Buzz About Collagen and Biotin Supplements And Do They Really Work?

The idea of making skin healthier from the inside is what made Collagen and Biotin supplements the hottest anti-aging craze of the moment. After all, who wouldn’t fall for its incredible claims of fighting wrinkles, promoting healthier hair and nails, and improving bone flexibility and density!

Of course, you might be thinking: “That’s just too good to be true!” A product that could literally slow your skin’s aging clock? It’s no surprise that this claim will have people raising their brows.

So how about we go ahead and get a closer look at what these so-called wrinkle-fighting elixirs can actually do for your skin.

COLLAGEN 101: What it is and What it does

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body and is present in all the organs and tissues, like bones, skin, muscles, hair and even the digestive system.

In fact, it comprises over one-third of our body’s protein.

It is responsible for keeping the body in place. Collagen provides skin with elasticity and strength along with replacing dead skin cells. Maximizing collagen levels supports healthy, supple skin.

70% of our cartilage, 90% of our tendons and ligaments and 30% of our bones are made up of Collagenmaking it the most important building block in the human body.

More than that, it also promotes hair growth and repairs body tissues. No wonder it is hailed by many as the wonder “Youth Protein.” It is naturally found in animal tissue, especially bones and connective tissue.

Types Of Collagen

There are over 29 types of collagen identified, to date. However, about 90% of the collagen in the body only comprises of type 1-5. These different types of collagen have their own functions and structures.

TYPE 1: This is the largest and most durable type of collagen present in the human body. It is essential for wound healing, increasing the skin’s elasticity and strength, and holding together tissue so it doesn’t tear.

This is the best type of collagen for your skin and beauty needs.

TYPE 2: This collagen builds cartilage to sustain the health of our joints. It is found in our connective tissue and is helpful for preventing joint pains or arthritis symptoms caused by aging.

TYPE 3: This is made up of reticulate fiber that forms blood vessels and tissue within the heart. It’s usually found with Type 1 collagen and helps skin maintain elasticity and firmness.

TYPE 4: Type 4 collagen forms bases of cell basement membrane called Basal lamina.  They’re a thin layer of gel-like fluid that lines the majority of our organs and respiratory surfaces.

TYPE 5: This type of collagen is essential to develop the surface of cells, including hair strands and tissue present in women’s placentas.

The Benefits of Collagen

While there are many excellent adjunct approaches to anti-aging like cosmetics or surgery, some scientists say that “there is nothing greater you could do for an anti-aging approach than to increase your body's total collagen”

Here are some of the amazing health benefits of collagen for the body:

1. Reduces Wrinkles and Improves Skin Health

The regular intake of collagen encourages your skin to become soft, supple, and more elastic. It decreases the prevalence of wrinkles, blemishes and even reduces cellulite and stretch marks. Improving your skin’s elasticity through collagen regeneration reduces that dimpling on your skin.

Multiple studies investigating the anti-aging properties of collagen have found that increased collagen levels will significantly help your skin look firmer, smoother and renew your skin cells naturally in just eight weeks—all with little to no side effects.

2. Assists in Healing

Collagen is essential for the body to rebuild connective tissue damage to maintain healthy skin, muscles, and joints. Moreover, it builds up the structure of tendons, ligaments, and cartilage and bones.

3. Improves Bones and Joint Pain

Collagen is also known for its ability to improve your joint strength and lessen joint pain caused by inflammation while also promoting extra cell growth. Its gel-like, smooth structure covers and holds our bones together.

It allows our body to glide and move without pain. Over time, our collagen decreases causing our tendons and ligaments to start moving with less ease, resulting in stiffness and swollen joints.

4. Boosts Hair and Nail Texture

Collagen is a crucial component in hair growth and nail firmness due to its ability to combat the free radicals that tend to damage your hair and nails’ texture and appearance.

Renewing collagen in the body can raise the overall health of your nails and hair. Research suggests that collagen works to enhance the body's hair building proteins by nourishing the healthy structure of the hair follicle.

This, in turn, will help encourage hair growth, prevent hair loss, and reduce the appearance of grey hair.

What Causes Collagen Levels to Decrease

Unfortunately, our body’s collagen production naturally decreases as we age. As the structural integrity of the skin declines, signs of aging like wrinkles, sagging skin, and joint pain occur.

Apart from aging, other environmental and lifestyle factors can deplete the levels of collagen within the body:

High Sugar Consumption

Eating a diet high in sugar increases the rate of glycation, this then forms new molecules called advanced glycation end products (AGEs). These particles tend to damage nearby proteins and can make collagen weak, dry, and brittle.

Smoking

Smoking is never a good idea, especially if you want to achieve healthy, supple skin. The chemical components in Tobacco smoke can damage both elastin and collagen in the skin.

The nicotine in cigarettes also narrows the blood vessels in the external layers of your skin resulting in deeper wrinkles and dehydrated complexion.

Sunlight

If you want to save your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays that break down collagen, ensure that you stay sun-safe by establishing a daily skincare regimen that includes SPF.

UV rays produce an enzyme that damages collagen fibers and induces the accumulation of abnormal elastin.

If you want to keep your skin, bones, muscles, and joints healthy for longer, protect your collagen by avoiding tobacco, excess sun exposure, and follow a healthy diet and skincare regimen.

Source of Collagen

Collagen comes in many ways and forms. You can acquire this vital protein from collagen boosting food like fruits and vegetables.

There are also available collagen pills and supplements that contain amino acids along with collagen-generating formula. As stated in the video, fish, cow, pig, and chicken make for excellent dietary source of collagen.

Always try and eat organic!

There are also collagen oils like Avocado oils, that when taken internally, are said to have a significant effect on your skin’s glow. You may also shop for collagen creams that you can apply topically to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

While there are a lot of good sources of collagen, the best ones are those that are not made out of collagen but instead, switch on your body’s own collagen-producing cells to increase collagen formation.

What is Biotin and What It Can Do For You

Vitamin B7 or Biotin is part of the complex B vitamin — the nutrient group responsible for healthy metabolism, proper psychological functioning and nerve signaling.

Apart from this, Biotin is also known for its beauty benefits. This water-soluble vitamin helps our skin, nails, and hair maintain a youthful and attractive appearance.

It is a common ingredient in beauty products but is more popular in anti-aging supplements as it is believed to be fully beneficial when ingested rather than applied topically. However, since it is water-soluble, it can be eliminated through urine that may lead to Biotin deficiency.

To keep your Biotin supply high, it is ideal to ingest small amounts of Biotin regularly either through supplementation or various food sources.

Research shows that high doses of Biotin have the ability to treat weak hair and nails. Other beauty benefits of Biotin include preventing acne, skin dryness, flaking and rashes.

It also supports thyroid and adrenal function and is needed to build and repair tissues and muscles.

How To Choose The Best Collagen and Biotin Supplement

There are a lot of good collagen supplements available. However, it is always important to factor in the purity, formulation, ingredients, bioavailability, the source of collagen and the values of the company when choosing a collagen supplement.

Great-quality collagen supplements are those that are clinically-proven to nourish your body’s beauty proteins and stimulate your own collagen production.

Good thing you no longer have to look far to find the right collagen supplement that is sure to provide visible results in just a few weeks!

INTRODUCING YEOUTH’S REGENOTIN SUPPLEMENT

Regenotin is an anti-aging collagen supplement that goes far beyond wrinkle creams or any other supplements because it rejuvenates the body and addresses aging — cell by cell by cell.

Regenotin is a patented choline-stabilized formulation of orthosilicic acid (OSA). Through a patented process, Regenotin allows silica to be absorbed. When you maintain good silica levels, your skin will stay supple, nails harden, and hair looks fuller.

Only stabilized OSA delivers its promise of activating the human body’s production of the three beauty proteins: Collagen, Elastin, and Keratin.

COLLAGEN: ch-OSA encourages your body to restore collagen generation, a protein necessary to firm sagging skin, even out your skin tone, reduce wrinkles and improve joint and tissue health.

KERATIN: Supporting keratin production helps your hair and nails stay elastic and youthful. It’s a natural protein that strengthens hair, promotes hair growth and improves hair appearance.

ELASTIN: As a highly elastic protein, Elastin allows many tissues in the body to resume their shape after stretching or contracting. It enables the skin to stretch and bounce back helping to handle fine lines and wrinkles.

By combining ch-OSA with biotin, Regenenotin offers an even higher level of beauty support!

BIOTIN: Biotin is part of the complex B vitamin and has been linked to promote hair health, thicken nail cuticles and prevent breakage.

Regenotin delivers 5 mg of the active ingredient in proprietary microsphere-filled capsules.

WHAT DOES REGENOTIN DO

Regenotin supports healthy hair, skin, and nails. Moreover, it encourages the growth, development & regeneration of connective tissue (bones, cartilage, etc.), puts a halt to wrinkles, fine lines, thinning hair and reverses the signs of aging.

It features clinically tested ch-OSA (choline-stabilized orthosilicic acid) complemented with biotin. Regenotin naturally nourishes your body's beauty proteins by supporting and activating enzymes used by collagen-generating cells. A must-have supplement for everyone’s health and beauty plans.
